Lloyd: "Lay It Down"

Lloyd has a new song out called "Lay It Down" produced by Polow da Don. Lloyd is also currently signed to his label Zone 4, which is under Interscope Records. This is actually a great move that Lloyd has made as far as choosing record labels. Zone 4 has great producers, I can predict that Lloyd will become bigger than he already is. Not saying he didn't become a star under Murder Inc., but I think he'll be able to do more as an artist. Starting with this song, right off the back he sounds totally different, his whole style is differemt. I'm actually excited to be honest. I can't stop listening to this song because it's just that good.

Favorite Summer Music: Fan Of A Fan Mixtape

The summer is almost over, and I thought I would share with everyone the kind of music I enjoyed listening to over my summer vaction. "Fan of a Fan" is a mixtape that was released by Chris Brown and Tyga on May 16, 2010. It was described by both artist as a mixtape for their fans. To show their appreciation for the love and support they both have been receiving from their fans throughout the years. I personallly love the entire mixtape, but I have my select favorites. Their leading song off the mixtape "Deuces" recently reched #1, the mixtape in general is doing great. I cannot wait for both Chris Brown and Tyga to drop solo albums. Before Tyga releases his album "Careless World" he will be realeasing another mixtape entitled "Well Done". It is said that Chris Brown is currently working on a new album as well. With that being said I can't wait =)

R.I.P Aaliyah

Today marks the 9th year anniversary of Aaliyah's death. On August 25, 2001 she passed away in a airplane crash from the Bahamas after shooting her video for her song "Rock the Boat". I myself was really really sad when she passed away. I still remember what occured that day. I was in the car and I heard nothing but Aaliyah songs on the radio. When I got in the house the news was on and it said she had died in a plane crash. I couldn't believe it because Aaliyah was one of my favorite singers and somebody I always looked up to. So I was sheding tears like a family member had passed away. This is the honest truth. Around that time I was in summer day camp and my teacher at the time put a picture of her on the classroom door and I looked at it and started crying. Aaliyah to me was a wonderful talent person all around. She was a wonderful dancer, singer, and although she never got to the chance to expand her acting career as much she did wonderful in acting as well. Little did I know that Aaliyah would inspire me to want to be an entertainer, first through dance. In elementary school I was apart of a dance group called the "Baby Girl Dancers" formed by my second grade teacher. She formed the dance group off of the classes love for Aaliyah. The first song we danced to was Aaliyah's "Try Again" (I still remember some of the moves...lols). Later on after entering junior high school I became more interested in singing. I educated myself on artist I admired, Aaliyah being one of them. So as I continue and try to make my dreams come true I like to think about the wonderful artist Aaliyah was and only hope that I can achieve half of the great things she has done before leaving this earth. So as the years pass it's important not to embrace the new artist thats on the rise, but remember and pay credit to those who have come before and passed on. I am truly and completely a true 100% Aaliyah fan and really do miss her. So although I selfishly want her here on earth she is off in heaven being the angel that she really is. When I think Aaliyah here's what I think BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED and INSPIRING! May she continue to Rest In Peace ♥

Here is one of my favorite Aaliyah songs "The One I Gave My Heart To":

Monica is GREAT!

The other day someone said to me stop listening to Monica. At first I didn't understend then they explained that I always look like I'm depressed (NOT TRUE). They said that Monica's music makes them feel depressed and they advised that I stop listening to her music. In my opinion I don't think Monica's music is depressing. In fact I think her music is really great. She is one of the few talented artist that is still relevent is today's music industry. Although she isn't in the blogs constantly or seen partying all the time I have nothing but complete respect for her. Her last album "Still Standing" was an amazing album. Although the entire album is ballots I still enjoy it. I have the actual CD. No I did not download it or anything. I went to the store and brought the CD. I think when a artist is that good and doesn't put out music that is complete nonsense, as fans we should go out to the stores and buy the actual album. With that being said I think Monica is poppin and her music does not depress me, but more of motivates me to keep working towards my dream and one day making it into the music industry.

Also this week I found out that Monica is dating Shannon Brown of the Los Angeles Lakers. He was the leading guy in her last video "Love All Over Me". All I have to say is GO MONICA! He is a complete step up from Rocko, so she seems to be doing well in both music and men, so shoutouts to her.

Here is her video for "Love All Over Me"

Keri Hilson: "Breaking Point"

Today Keri Hilson released the first song off her second album "No Boys Allowed". The name of the song is entitled  "Breaking Point". I myself am a very huge Keri Hilson fan. I love everything about her artistry. She wrote this song herself and it was produced by Timbaland. This song is a different sound from Keri Hilson and moves away from the commercial mainstream of the music industry. In some cases that can be a good thing because many songs are now being realeased without any feelings. With this being a different sound for Keri it can take some getting used to. The song does have potiental and it showcases her wonderful vocals. Most of all the song is filled with emotion. This video is set to be shot at the begining of September of this year. The album is set to drop later on this year. The big controversy is Keri Hilson's look in her promo picture (ABOVE). I myself have my own opinions. The only thing I disagree with is her makeup. Her eye makeup is too much. It makes her face look stronger more masculine I must say. I've been reading comments from fans and they said she looks like a drag queen. I'm just going to say the makeup could have been a little lighter.Other than that the Re-Run hat is okay, her new blonde hair color has grown on me & now I ♥ it. The stockings could have been eliminated, but other than that the promo picture is not so bad in my opinion.
