Summertime Music

The summer is not quite over yet, but the end is pretty much near. If there is anything that takes you back to any summer experience it would have to be the music that was out around that time. This summer there were a few songs that were constantly played on my local radio stations that has definitely made this past summer memorable.

Check out some of my favorites below:

Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne & Tyga "Loyal"

This track has been out way before the summer officially began, but it's popularity definitely grew throughout the summer. Chris Brown even performed this track at this years BET Awards, as it was his first comeback performance after being released from jail. The track is expected to appear on his upcoming album X, which has been given a new release date of September 16th.

Check out more after the jump. . .

Rich Homie Quan ft. Problem "Walk Thru"

Listed as one of the freshman for XXL's 2014 Freshman Class, Rich Homie Quan continues to keep it coming with the hits. This year "Walk Thur" was played on every single Hip Hop and R&B station all over. The track originally appeared on his I Promise I Will Never Stop Going In mixtape.

Tinashe ft. Schoolboy Q "2 On"

Tinashe definitely had an amazing summer as her debut single "2 On" produced by DJ Mustard reached #24 on Billboards Hot 100.  The RCA artists debut album Aquarius is expected to be released sometime before the year is up.

Jeremiah ft. YG "Don't Tell 'Em "

Jeremiah was definitely on the comeback tip when he released his new single "Don't Tell 'Em" featuring West Coast rapper YG. Another track produced by DJ Mustard and co produced by Mike Schultz, this song has been in rotation throughout the entire summer. The track appears on Jeremiah's recent project N.O.M.A (Not On My Album), which is currently available.

Lil Wayne ft. Drake "Believe Me"

As the first track off of Lil Wayne's highly anticipated album Tha Carter V, "Believe Me" is definitely one of the tracks that will be going down as one of the most popular songs of 2014. Both Lil Wayne and Drake are two of the hottest rappers out right now, so hopping on a track together was not enough. The two recently began their tour Drake vs Lil Wayne Tour, which ends at the end of September.

Iggy Azalea ft. Charlie XCX "Fancy"

Last but not least Iggy Azalea definitely had a breakout year as she released her debut album, The New Classic back in April. However, it was her track "Fancy" featuring UK singer Charli XCX that has everyone talking as it has been played on both Hip Hop stations, as well as Pop radio. The song even topped Billboard Hot 100 with the #1 spot. Not to mention the theme of the music video was based off of the 95' flick Clueless, which was pretty dope.
