For those who really know me or have been reading my blog would know that I ♥ me some Keri Hilson. So the minuate I seen this video I know I was going to post this on my blog, whether I loved it or not. I wasn't surprised that I loved the video. When I mean you see a total different Keri Hilson I mean a total different Keri Hilson. She has grown so much as an artist I am just counting down the days until December 21st (release of No Boys Allowed) arrives. This video has so many familar faces in it. The song features Rick Ross so of course he is in the video. The video also has JoJo, Dawn Richards (of Dirty Money), Faith Evans, Lloyd, Pollow Da Don, and Columbus Short. "The Way You Love Me" is the third single off of Keri Hilson's sophomore album No Boys Allowed.

Priscilla Renea
I'm back for another post on artist who are really talented that don't get the recognition that they deserve. This time I am here to talk about Priscilla Renea, signed to Capitol Records.
Priscilla Renea was first introduced to the world with her first single "Dollhouse", which was released in 2009. However her single didn't too well because it didn't even get a chance to make it to the Billboard 200. On December 1, 2009 she released her debut album Jukebox , like her first single her album was not able to reach much success either. I'll admit that I didn't really know who she was until I read an article about her in Seventeen Magazine. I remember seeing her video for "Dollhouse" on MTV, and I liked the song. The chorus was catchy "I'm not a doll, this ain't a dollhouse..." . But that was all I ever heard of her, I never knew she released an album or anything. Thanks to Seventeen Magazine I was educated and I learned how she was able to achieve success. She became famous from her Youtube channel, and she really made headlines when she sung the Webster's Dictionary. I decided to visit her channel and check out her videos. She has such a beautiful voice, and her music is very good. It's different from the music thats out now a days, but it's really good. Usually when I find out about an artist I go to school and ask my friends if they know of them. Turns out that two of my friends already knew who she was and they knew her songs as well. With that being said Priscilla Renea has achieved more success than any other artist who is not well known that I;ve posted about previously. She has yet to reach that world wide success that I believe she is meant for, but things take time. I follow her on twitter so sometimes I see tweets and twitpics of her working on a new album. I'm excited to see the kind of music she is working on. Two of my favorite songs from her debut album is "Rockabye Baby" and "Love Sick". This is only the beginning of her journey, so I anxious to see what direction she is headed to next.

NEW MUSIC: One You Call/ Far Away
Keke Palmer has a new video to her song "The One You Call" which she released via Youtube not too long ago. I really like this song and I like this video as well. Keke Palmer is multi talented not only can she act, but she can sing and dance. She is signed to Interscope Records, and should be releasing her next album sometime next year. I'm excited to hear what other new music she has to bring. What do you think of the song and video?
Marsha Ambrosius formally of the duo Floetry is out to begin her solo career, and so far she is doing a good job. She is back with her second single "Far Away" produced by Just Blaze, this follows her first single "I Hope She Cheats On You" which was such a big success. I find her to be an overlooked talent, and I fall guilty to overlooking her talent. I did not know she had such a nice voice when she was apart of Floetry. She did such an amazing job at the Black Girls Rock Award Show, she was apart of the "Four Women" performance. After watching her at that award show and listening to her first two singles I'm anxious to see where she is headed next. Where ever that may be I'm positive it's in the right direction.

PINK Friday Celebration
It is finally here, two days ago Nicki Minaj released her debut album Pink Friday
I'll admit I am not a die hard fan of Nicki Minaj like some people are, but I am a fan I do respect the road she has traveled to reach the place so many people dream of. I first found out about Nicki Minaj in early 2008, way before she was signed to Young Money. Around that time she was still doing videos on come up dvd's and mixtapes. My first impression of her was like "yo dis girl can really spit, not to mention she's pretty". So it was fun and exciting to watch her develope as an artist because she was different and she had this New York demeaner that just let you know how serious she was. I think my most favorite songs by her ever would have to be "Warning" and "Baddest Bitch". At first it was kind of wierd to see her develope into this total different person over the last couple of years because I wasn't immune to it. Then again, whats a true artist without some type of growth or change? I've learned to except it and just try to grasp on to the best music she is able to make. However, this post is for me to express how proud and excited I am for her because she has come a long way for her to finally release her first alum. Only something that I dream of doing for myself. I've already expressed how much I like "Roman's Revenge". Another favorite of mine off of the album is "Fly" ft. Rihanna, I also recommend that people listen to her song called "Old Nicki" because she talks about her changing into the Nicki Minj we now see today.
One of my favorite songs by Nicki Minaj & maybe the first song I learned from her

R.I.P Anthony "Messy Mya" Barre
I did not know who Anthony "Messy Mya" Barre was until about an hour ago. His funeral service was posted on http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/ and I just thought that it was a really sad situation that there are so many young people dying. It's not like their out fighting for their country and losing their lives. They might as well had gone off to war than because living in today's society is like living in a war zone. Thats why everyday I live in fear because I worry about my family members and my friends. In just one split second they can have their lives taken away from them. Just this past two weeks I seen so many R.I.P signs on my twitter timeline and facebook news feed. Out of some of the people who has passed I actually knew one of the people. Him and I attened the same elementry school. His life was taken away from him for and he was the same exact age as me. Everyday I wonder and ask God, why is the world like this? Messy Mya was an up and coming comedian/bounce music artist from New Orleans who had become well known on youtube. He lost his life on November 14, 2010 he was attending a baby shower for his unborn child. He had stepped outside to go to his car and he was shot several times, one bullet hitting him in the back of his neck. People then surrounded him and someone actually took a picture of him face down on the ground dying and posted them on both twitter and facebook. It was said that there was no witnesses to tell what happened, however there was lots of people in attenedence. That whole story line just doesn't add up and it's just a really sad situation. Messy Mya was only 22 years old. I went to his twitter page and read some of his last tweets before he died and his last tweet said "Finally the baby shower today". Another tweet from the day he died that stuck out to me the most was "#randonthought I wounder what people be thinkin bout just before they are bout to die". If you want to see his twitter page for yourself the URL is: http://twitter.com/therealmessymya . If you would like to check out the videos he left behind visit his youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheeHHGz . Here is also an article that was put to together following his death: http://news.lalate.com/2010/11/21/messy-mya-anthony-barre-memorial-remembers-talent/
Messy Mya & his girlfriend MinniCat at their babyshower for their unborn child Juelz...who is expected around Messy Mya's birthday, which is December 15th. It sad because right after this he was murdered.
Here is a video on a video of an investigation on his death entitled "Messy Mya Murder Scene Video "
Here is a video of his funeral service
Although I did not know Messy Mya, and I am on the other side of the country I want to send my condolences to his family because I know this is a tragic time for them right now.I hope and pray that peace will soon come amongst today's youth because things are becoming really out of hand.
UPDATE:
Today is Messy Mya's birthday he would have turned 23. Although today may have been a day of tears, it is also a day to smiles because his son Juelz was born today. I believe it is just a blessing that Messy Mya's son is able to have the same exact birthday as his dad. Although he will never get the chance to meet his dad. His dad will be watching over him and living through him.
Another Update: This is what I wrote on Messy Mya's friends LaShaya LaBoy's Facebook Wall & here is her response:
I just wanted to say that I love the way your holding down Messy Mya and making sure everything is gonna be fine with his girlfriend and their his baby boy Juelz and you've been doing so way before his death and you continue to do so after he has passed. Within my 16 years of life I have yet to experience such a wonderful friend, but ...I'm hoping for one in the near future. Your just a wondeful person in general. Thats it :)
God Bless & Have a Messy Holiday lols
Her Response: Awwwww thanks suga. I know how hard it is to come by someone that is real and I try to be that all day every day. I dont like to see people hurt or worry. Thanks for recognizing that in me. You are truly a sweet person.
My Response Back: No, actually I have to thank you because if it wasn't for you I would have never been introduced to all the talent that is within New Orleans, or would of never been able to learn more about Messy Mya...I do all that I can when it comes to increasing his fan base out here in New York. You are truly a sweet person :)
Chrisette Michele
This is the album cover of Chrisette Michele's third album Let Freedom Reign, expected to be released on November 30th. The first single off of her upcoming album is "I'm a Star", which is a nice melow song that still shows her unique vocal range. I believe that she has one of the best voices when it comes to soul. I first heard of Chrisette Michele when she was featured of Nas's song "Can't Forget About You" off of his Hip Hop is Dead album. After that she released her debut album I Am which consisted of songs such as "If I Had My Way" and "Love Is You". It wasn't until she released her second album "Epiphany" that I really fell in love with her. To promote her album she did the VH1 Soulstage and I was just amazed from the begining to the end. I literally sat in front of my televison staring and feeling chills watching this woman sing. When she performed her song "Blame it On Me" thats when the tears reached my face. I was able to get her album and other songs such as "Playin Our Song", "What You Do", and "Fragile" became instant favorites. Her new album is just another album I am very anxious to hear because I am positive it is going to consist of good music, which is rear now a days.

Dear Jayne
This is another post dedicated to artists/ groups who are not really known, but are really talented. This post is about an Atlanta based group named Dear Jayne.
Dear Jayne is a group of three different young women from different parts of the country that was put together by a manager and producer by the name of Anthony Tate. The three young women of the group are Ashley (middle), Jasmine (left) and Lindsey (right). I was first introduced to Dear Jayne in 2008, I first heard their song "Rain" on Music Choice. Then a few months later I heard their song "Fall Back" ft. The Dream on 106 & Park as a new joint. However Dear Jayne was not able to to release a debut album, there was never a release date set after their original date was pushed back. To make matters worse Lindsey decided to leave the group, and she was replaced by another young lady named Erica. There is not much to really say about Dear Jayne because I am not really sure about the status of the group. However I feel like this group was talented enough and thats what made them capture my attention. What ever is going on with this group I hope everything works out and they achieve the success they were meant to achieve.
Here is one of the last promo pictures of Dear Jayne with new member Erica (right).

After hearing these songs and seeing these videos maybe somebody can explain to me why they weren't successful, because I really don't understand as to whey they weren't.
NEW MUSIC/ VIDEOS from Keyshia Cole
Keyshia Cole is back with new music and is expecting to release her fourth album Calling All Hearts sometime next year. Her last album A Different Me was released in 2008. Since then she has become a new mommy and has gotten engaged to Daniel "Boobie" Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Knowing the great artist that she is I am sure her new album would show much growth from her previous album. Her first single " I Ain't Thru" ft. Nicki Minaj was released a few months ago. Personally I'm not really feeling the song, I can't say exactly why because I really don't know why. I'm sure I would just need to hear it a few more times to get used to the song before I start singing it. I do however like Nicki Minaj's verse, the way she just flows with the beat makes the song seem more better. None the less I still think Keyshia Cole is a great artists, and most of all one of the few great vocalists in the industry. Her next single will be "Long Way Down". Both of her new singles have videos, check them out:

I think this video is so cute, especially because it's her and her finance together.

NEW VIDEOS: What's My Name/ Pretty Girl Rock
It's FINALLY here, the video for "Whats My Name" off of Rihanna's upcoming album Loud (November 16th) was released today. This follows her first single "Only Girl in the World". Everyone loves this song, including myself. I think Rihanna and Drake make a very cute couple and this video is very cute. I wish she would have given Drake a chance before dating Matt Kemp, of the Los Angeles Dogers. I'm not sure if people know that this video was shot during the summer time here in New York City. I know this because some time in August pictures and video of Rihanna on set of this video was posted on http://www.theybf.com/ . My only issue with this video is Rihanna's red wig, I've been meaning to mention this, but I haven't. I think Rihanna is really beautiful but I don't think this is for her. I think she can pull off a cute hair style with this hair once in awhile, but I think she should consider getting a different color. Then again she is Rihanna so I guess she can do what ever the hell she wants and everyone is going to love it. It doesn't change the fact that this video is great though.
Now this video I've been waiting for ever since I heard the song. So it's no secret that I am one of the biggest fans of Keri Hilson and I look up to her. After the whole disappointment yesterday, I heard that her video for "Pretty Girl Rock" had premiered on 106 & Park. Of course I grew even more upset because I missed the video I've been waiting to see for the past two months. I finally got to see the video today and when I was watching it the only thing I could say was "YESSSSS". The video is the total opposite than what I imagined it would be like. However it was even better than what I thought it would be. In the video she pays homage to women from different era's, up until the present. I love this song and I love this video :)
I really want to get that No Boys Allowed necklace that Keri Hilson wears, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!

NEW MUSIC: Wonder Women/ Between The Lines
Today Tyga released his mixtape Well Done, one of the songs that I was introuduced to today was a song called "Wonder Women" featuring Chris Brown. I think that Tyga and Chris Brown are actually meant to be featured on songs with eachother because they always come out so great. Not saying they cannot produce good music as individuals because they most certainly can. I encourage people to actually go out and download, or buy Tyga's mixtape. It's not because I have the biggest crush on him, but because he is actually one of the few talented rappers that actually work. Yet alone work on real music. However I wish people would stop comparing him to Wiz Khalifa. I happen to think they are both very talented and can make great contributions to the rap scene. How do u feel about this song?
P.S: Another dope song off of this mixtape is "Maybe"
Chris Brown recently released his single called "Between The Lines" featuring Kevin McCall (from "Deuces"). This song is on Chris Brown's new mixtape My Zone Pt.2 which is expected to be released this Black Friday.
NEW MUSIC: The Way You Love Me/ Fall For Her
Here is yet another song off of Keri Hilson's second album No Boys Allowed, which is now scheduled to be released December 21st. This is rumored to NOW be her second single following "Breaking Point". This track is entitled "The Way You Love Me", when I heard this song I automatically thought club song. This seems like the more up tempo track off her album. What do u think of the song?
Tristan Wilds, who got his acting debut on the HBO show The Wire and is now on the CW's remake of the popular 1990's show 90210 has recently released a song titled "Fall for Her". I've actually been a fan of Tristan for the past few years so I was already aware of his involement in music. However this is the first song I've heard for him, and I must say that I'm impressed. How do you feel about this song?
