Chrisette Michele

This is the album cover of Chrisette Michele's third album Let Freedom Reign, expected to be released on November 30th. The first single off of her upcoming album is "I'm a Star", which is a nice melow song that still shows her unique vocal range. I believe that she has one of the best voices when it comes to soul. I first heard of Chrisette Michele when she was featured of Nas's song "Can't Forget About You" off of his Hip Hop is Dead album. After that she released her debut album I Am which consisted of songs such as "If I Had My Way" and "Love Is You". It wasn't until she released her second album "Epiphany" that I really fell in love with her. To promote her album she did the VH1 Soulstage and I was just amazed from the begining to the end. I literally sat in front of my televison staring and feeling chills watching this woman sing. When she performed her song "Blame it On Me" thats when the tears reached my face. I was able to get her album and other songs such as "Playin Our Song", "What You Do", and "Fragile" became instant favorites. Her new album is just another album I am very anxious to hear because I am positive it is going to consist of good music, which is rear now a days.

Dear Jayne

This is another post dedicated to artists/ groups who are not really known, but are really talented. This post is about an Atlanta based group named Dear Jayne.

Dear Jayne is a group of three different young women from different parts of the country that was put together by a manager and producer by the name of Anthony Tate. The three young women of the group are Ashley (middle), Jasmine (left) and Lindsey (right). I was first introduced to Dear Jayne in 2008, I first heard their song "Rain" on Music Choice. Then a few months later I heard their song "Fall Back" ft. The Dream on 106 & Park as a new joint. However Dear Jayne was not able to to release a debut album, there was never a release date set after their original date was pushed back. To make matters worse Lindsey decided to leave the group, and she was replaced by another young lady named Erica. There is not much to really say about Dear Jayne because I am not really sure about the status of the group. However I feel like this group was talented enough and thats what made them capture my attention. What ever is going on with this group I hope everything works out and they achieve the success they were meant to achieve.

Here is one of the last promo pictures of Dear Jayne with new member Erica (right).

After hearing these songs and seeing these videos maybe somebody can explain to me why they weren't successful, because I really don't understand as to whey they weren't.

NEW MUSIC/ VIDEOS from Keyshia Cole

Keyshia Cole is back with new music and is expecting to release her fourth album Calling All Hearts sometime next year. Her last album A Different Me was released in 2008. Since then she has become a new mommy and has gotten engaged to Daniel "Boobie" Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Knowing the great artist that she is I am sure her new album would show much growth from her previous album. Her first single " I Ain't Thru" ft. Nicki Minaj was released a few months ago. Personally I'm not really feeling the song, I can't say exactly why because I really don't know why. I'm sure I would just need to hear it a few more times to get used to the song before I start singing it. I do however like Nicki Minaj's verse, the way she just flows with the beat makes the song seem more better. None the less I still think Keyshia Cole is a great artists, and most of all one of the few great vocalists in the industry. Her next single will be "Long Way Down". Both of her new singles have videos, check them out:

I think this video is so cute, especially because it's her and her finance together.

NEW VIDEOS: What's My Name/ Pretty Girl Rock

It's FINALLY here, the video for "Whats My Name" off of Rihanna's upcoming album Loud (November 16th) was released today. This follows her first single "Only Girl in the World". Everyone loves this song, including myself. I think Rihanna and Drake make a very cute couple and this video is very cute. I wish she would have given Drake a chance before dating Matt Kemp, of the Los Angeles Dogers. I'm not sure if people know that this video was shot during the summer time here in New York City. I know this because some time in August pictures and video of Rihanna on set of this video was posted on http://www.theybf.com/ . My only issue with this video is Rihanna's red wig, I've been meaning to mention this, but I haven't. I think Rihanna is really beautiful but I don't think this is for her. I think she can pull off a cute hair style with this hair once in awhile, but I think she should consider getting a different color. Then again she is Rihanna so I guess she can do what ever the hell she wants and everyone is going to love it. It doesn't change the fact that this video is great though.

Now this video I've been waiting for ever since I heard the song. So it's no secret that I am one of the biggest fans of Keri Hilson and I look up to her. After the whole disappointment yesterday, I heard that her video for "Pretty Girl Rock" had premiered on 106 & Park. Of course I grew even more upset because I missed the video I've been waiting to see for the past two months. I finally got to see the video today and when I was watching it the only thing I could say was "YESSSSS". The video is the total opposite than what I imagined it would be like. However it was even better than what I thought it would be. In the video she pays homage to women from different era's, up until the present. I love this song and I love this video :)

I really want to get that No Boys Allowed necklace that Keri Hilson wears, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!

NEW MUSIC: Wonder Women/ Between The Lines

Today Tyga released his mixtape Well Done, one of the songs that I was introuduced to today was a song called "Wonder Women" featuring Chris Brown. I think that Tyga and Chris Brown are actually meant to be featured on songs with eachother because they always come out so great. Not saying they cannot produce good music as individuals because they most certainly can. I encourage people to actually go out and download, or buy Tyga's mixtape. It's not because I have the biggest crush on him, but because he is actually one of the few talented rappers that actually work. Yet alone work on real music. However I wish people would stop comparing him to Wiz Khalifa. I happen to think they are both very talented and can make great contributions to the rap scene. How do u feel about this song?
P.S: Another dope song off of this mixtape is "Maybe"

Chris Brown recently released his single called "Between The Lines" featuring Kevin McCall (from "Deuces"). This song is on Chris Brown's new mixtape My Zone Pt.2 which is expected to be released this Black Friday.

NEW MUSIC: The Way You Love Me/ Fall For Her

Here is yet another song off of Keri Hilson's second album No Boys Allowed, which is now scheduled to be released December 21st. This is rumored to NOW be her second single following "Breaking Point". This track is entitled "The Way You Love Me", when I heard this song I automatically thought club song. This seems like the more up tempo track off her album. What do u think of the song?

Tristan Wilds, who got his acting debut on the HBO show The Wire and is now on the CW's remake of the popular 1990's show 90210 has recently released a song titled "Fall for Her". I've actually been a fan of Tristan for the past few years so I was already aware of his involement in music. However this is the first song I've heard for him, and I must say that I'm impressed. How do you feel about this song?

NEW MUSIC: "Roman's Revenge"

NICKI KILLED IT when I first heard this song I said to myself "woah". This was the Nicki Minaj I missed. I always said I thought she was becoming an artist way too different from the artist she was before she signed with Young Money. I thought she was doing too much animation instead of rapping. It seemed to me that her lyrics were lacking value and the hunger was gone. However, I was wrong. Last week she visited 106 & Park and she explained her tactics as an artist. She said that many of the songs that she is on is her featured on another artists song. In order to kill a verse everytime and make the track more memorable she does her different voices, loud outbursts, etc. which I completely understood. She said on her album you get to hear Nicki really rapping. I thought of her songs such as "Your Love" and "Right Through Me" it does contain her rapping regularly. However she went real hard on this track, it's rumored that it's directed towards Lil Kim. I don't know if thats true, I love Lil Kim and all but if it is she needs to watch out. Not to mention this song features Eminem. The song was produced by Swizz Beats, I can't expain it's just hot. Let me stop talking and listen to the track
