The last time Frank Ocean was mentioned on this blog was when I introduced his new single "Pyramids" which is on his new debut album Channel Orange, which hits stores tomorrow. The album was released a week early and since then there has been mixed reviews. Days before his album was released online, Frank Ocean wrote an open letter to his fans about his sexuality. In the letter he admits to being bi sexual and having a man as his first love. Since then he's received more love and he has also lost love. I personally don't think it matters whether or not he's gay, straight, or bi. The fact is he makes GREAT music and that's all that should matter. Last summer he had everyone going crazy over his song "Thinking About You" and suddenly the same people who loved that song no longer like it and no longer like him. I think that's just immature, and to make matters worse TARGET decides they will not be selling his album in their stores. This really must be the year when the world ends if people are really bothered that this wonderful musician's sexuality determines his success. Despite the negativity I believe his album will do great, it's already caused lots of attention within the media and it's only going to become better. As far as Target not carrying the album, I may have to travel a longer distance just to support a real artist.

NEW Music Video: Hello Girls "Beep Beep"
If your a daily viewer of BET's 106 & Park like myself than you may have seen Megan Good in a music video where she was the artist. Awhile ago I heard about her and her sister being in a girl group, but because I seen no promo, heard no music or nothing I just ignored it. Then they popped up on 106 this week with their new video. I always feel like I should be the last person to judge a artist because I spent four years in high school studying music & my voice sounds like shit, and I'm getting no where vocally. I will say I did kind of get that vibe of modern day Pussycat Dolls as they were on the show, but when the video was over I was lost for words. It's about two days later and I'm still kind of lost for words, I can say I don't want the song on my iPod.
PLEASE SHARE HONEST OPINION ON THIS SONG & MUSIC VIDEO, BECAUSE IDK!

New Music: "You Got Me"/ "Dive In"
Anyone who knows me knows I love talking about new music, and the first new track comes from someone who I actually look to as a role model. If you've read my blog in the past then you may have seen previous posts about Keke Palmer. She is back with lot's of new projects, and one of those new projects is a new mixtape. Her new single "You Got Me" features singer/ rapper/ songwriter Kevin McCall. The track was produced by Harmony from London. Both Harmony and Kevin McCall compare Keke to Brandy, based off of her vocal ability and work ethic. The official release date and title of her mixtape are currently unknown, but the official music video to the track will be released really soon. Also you can catch Keke Palmer in Ice Age: Continental Drift, which features others such as Nicki Minaj, Queen Latifah, Drake and many more, the move hits theater's this Friday.
BTS Footage:
The next new single comes from one of R&B's current heartthrobs, Trey Songz. His new single "Dive In" is the third single released off of his upcoming studio album Chapter V, which is set to be released on August 21st. This song is yet another classic Trey Songz track that I'm sure all ladies will love and have them singing pretty soon.

2012 BET Award Recap
I know the 2012 BET Awards was almost a week ago, but I still want to share my favorite moments from the show.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say the highlight of the entire award show was the tribute to Whitney Houston. The tribute began with Mariah Carey coming out sharing her personal memories with Whitney. Since her death you hear a lot of fake stories, or stories that never really held any significance. So when Mariah came out looking flawless, might I add, you couldn't help but start tearing up. After she spoke one of my favorite singers, Monica (shown above) sung her heart out. Once Monica left the stage, Brandy came to the stage to perform. I was personally happy to see her involvement in the tribute because her and Whitney had been close, and for awhile she didn't want to perform in any kind of tribute because it was too emotional. However, she pulled through and looked and sounded great. The highlight of the entire performance was Cissy Houston coming out to sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water", I believe no other network would of been able to make that happen other than BET. To end the musical proportion was my all time favorite singer Chaka Khan come out, to sing "I'm Every Woman", she looked and sounded amazing through her performance as well. The tribute ended with Whitney's co-star's from Waiting to Exhale sharing their fondest memories with her, now that was a tribute.
Many people haven't mentioned this, but Melanie Fiona sung her ass off during her performance and that placed her as one of my favorite performances of the night.
Many people focused on Usher's sneakers during his performance, but not his vocals. He delivered vocally and after being within the industry for all of these years, I would say that he still has it.
I'll admit I was expecting more from Chris Brown, but the creativity was most definitely within his performance. That's why I believe mentioning his performance is necessary.
I think Nicki Minaj's performance is worth mentioning because she rapped. When I heard her rapping I think I was extremely surprised because now a days you just hear her try to sing like a pop star, so it was nice she decided to return to rap that night. As far as her ass, that's her issue.
I think one thing that had everyone talking that night was the front row. Many people thought that Kim Kardashian being at the BET Awards was awkward and that she looked kind of out of place, and I would have to agree. Nonetheless Beyonce and Jay-Z's appearance at the award show was a more important topic. The two ran against each other for a couple of the awards that night, and they both went home with two awards each.
